Very pleased to announce that I won Notre Dame-based choral ensemble Our Lady’s Consort’s first call for scores. The Consort will be performing my new piece Adoravit, a setting of ‘Senex puerunt portabat’, at the choir’s concert for the Feast of the Presentation on February 2 at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Notre Dame. I enjoyed exercising all of my early Renaissance influences in writing the piece very much indeed. Thanks very much for the work of all involved - judges Dr. Carmen-Helena Téllez and Dr. Nancy Menck, the choir, and their director Dr. Caleb Wenzel. I met Caleb at the Oregon Bach Festival Composers’ Symposium and I feel confident that he’ll do an excellent job!
