Sarah Rimkus - composer of chamber, choral and vocal works
I am an American composer currently based in Marquette, Michigan. I recently completed my PhD in composition at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland with choral composers Phillip Cooke and Paul Mealor. Click the links above and below to find out more about my work or get in touch.
Sarah writes harmonically-driven, emotive but intricate music, primarily for choirs and chamber ensembles. Her work is inspired by a wide range of influences, from Ars Nova polyphony to Eastern European folk singing. Recent projects include works for the Ligeti Quartet, The Esoterics, and Red Note Ensemble.
